Best week of my life

WALT  how to use modal verbs in sentences.
1/08/2018
Northland swords
In the 1st week of the holidays my cousin and I went to Whangarei
for our rugby league team. In Whangarei what we did was training,
eating, showering, sleeping, repeat for one more day then my rugby
league team and I woke up at 6:00Am so we can catch the bus to go
to  Rotorua. When we got there the rugby league girls were getting
ready to go in the same bus as us. As we were going we had
stopped at mcdonalds for a kai. A couple hours later we made
it to Rotorua we stayed at a marae right in front of a nice
worm stink ngawha lake.

The next day was GAME DAY all the boys know we had a
chance at winning but we all had to wait and see. Up first
was Taranaki we all watch a video of them when they had the
grand final and they won. What we did was a Tu meke haka to
start our day. Taranaki did one back there haka was real long it
was about three minutes. It was our kick off my cousin kick then
we all chased and this tall as boy ran around all of us but luckily
this boy named Sua ankle taped him outside the line and it was
our ball Sua scored our first try then tries wouldn't stop coming.
After all those tries the score came to 44 - 6 it’s always good
getting a win next we waited about one hour for our next
gamescore came to 44-6 it’s always good getting a win next
we waited about one hour for our next game.

About time we started to train I was stoked to play our
next game. After we finished training we started to head
over to the field we were gonna play on. That game looked
hard but we had to see for our self as we were doing our haka
I was thinking saying in my head why don’t they have a haka.
Kick off time the game has started they kicked off my cousin
caught the ball and passed it to the prop and what do you see.
Straight away we score and like last time the tries wouldn’t stop
coming. The score ended up as 42-8 to wins in a row feels great.
After that unexpected games we did a huge haka to the samoa
under 16s and they did one back. There game was at the same
place we played and the cool thing about it was you didn’t have
to pay to get in.

The next day we all felt tired but nothing was gonna let us
down. Our first game for the day was Waikato and from the
games we watched of them were unbelievable. Kick off time
they kicked off and we were just taking it easy and completing
our sets. When they got the ball they were just too hard to stop
tries were coming there way and at half time it was 16-0 to
them. We all knew we had to improve and what happens our
first try of the day came to us then the second then the third,

fourth and fifth on the last try I was taking my time for the
kick because it was almost full time. From the side I kick and
the ball goes over the whistle goes and we are all so proud of
our whole team. Our next game was at 3:00 I was like wow
thats a long time to wait. Since we made it to finals we had to
watch Taranaki vs Waikato we all wanted Taranaki to win
because Waikato was our hardest opponents and Taranaki
were our easyest. Taranaki got the win but that’s not what
all expected form Waikato I bet they would of been gutted.

Finals time I was stoked to play in finals with Taranaki because
we beat them the first game we played them. Kick off time
we kicked off and straight away they scored we all thought I
was done for us because we knew they improved from the
last game. I kicked off again to Terry's side and an incredible
stripe from Terry to get the ball back for us and we score. We
were down by two because my cousin missed the kick. They
got the ball back and scored then we got the ball back then
scored we were down by four at half time because he missed
the second kick and that’s when it was my turn to kick. My
other cousin verne scored and I had to get the kick because
it was right in front and To easy for me I put us in front and
gave us an advantage and. The ball was kick to us and we got
another try on the corner. I didn’t think I was gonna get the
kick but it all was just to easy for me. They got the ball back
and and scored on the corner but they missed the kick because
he was not as good as me. We kicked off the score was 20-16
and we score in the last minute to make it 24-16 and I got the
goal with my right foot to make it 26-16 in the grand final.
Man we were so happy to win the competition and the best
thing about it was we were the only one to win out of the
under 17s and 15s Northland swords. After that we had a
shower at the fields and then we said our goodbyes because
my cousin and I when to my mums motel and on that night
we went to gengys khan and motion.

If I could go back to that week I would trust me if you
played you would of wanted the same. That passed
week was the best week of my whole entire life I miss
those games and boys.

Marae Noho

27/6/18   WALT write a recount that informs and entertains your reader.
Title: Our marae noho

Introduction:
Last thursday on a wet cloudy, rainy, windy morning. Rooms 3, 4 and 5, went on a
noho at kohewhata marae. Other people that came to support us were teachers and
parents. How we traveled to the marae was from the magic school bus.

What we did first was all the helpers were stacking the bags 1 by 1. Then I walked
through a cold, icy, puddle as whaea mary gave us a powhiri into the marea. Papa
vic was the guy who did the karakia then Whaea mary was the one that did the himine
and sonny did the mihi. After all that it was morning tea. At morning tea we ate our
own lunch.

Then we got into 5 groups without the year eights because they had to cook dinner
I was wondering what it was gonna be. After that each group did two activates each
before lunch I was in group two. First we had whaea gaylen in my opinion she had
the best job and what group two made with whaea gaylen was a koauau. A koauau
is something you put your lips on and blow lightly and it will make a noise. Next we
had whaea chanella what group two was making with her was headbands.

After all It was lunch and again we had our own lunch. When lunch was finished we
were not allowed in to play outside and straight after that we did two more activates for
the day. The next activate we did was our tukutuku panels now this was a bit tricky for
me because i've never done it  and never seen anyone do it. But it turned out that I was
pretty good at it. So moving on to star gazing this activate was pretty cool after we learn
about all of the Matariki stars we went on the ipads and looked for all the big stars.
FINALLY the dinner was ready what we had for dinner was beautiful shepards pie
with the best ever cabbage and the lovely plum pie with custard and cookie cream
ice-cream. Man i'll tell you now that cabbage was so good I had some for breakfast

Conclusion After that I would go back in to that day if I could just to eat that dinner
again and trust me you would to.

My Speech

I believe everyone should participate in sports:

every sports is an active sport. No matter what it is it will always be active. Did
you know Sports has been around before jesus christ was born, dont you think
that was a while ago. Also did you know most sports could help you find knew
friends that you haven't met before. How I met most of my friends was from
different types of sports. I even made a new friend just the other day from playing
rugby league.

Did you know sports will make you healthy and fit. When you play sports that
means you don’t have to sit inside watching tv. Im basically saying sports makes
you play outside. Also sports makes people happy and proud of themselves to
get to the point they want to, and they should be. There is a couple of people that
don’t have feelings for sports at all. Don’t you think that's weird? I mean sports gets you going. When you are not playing sports, you might be inside eating whatever you want because you are bored and have nothing to do. Did you know you could die young if you are unhealthy. That's why im saying play sports and make you family very proud of you. don't be lazy.

At the first recorded Olympic Games in 760 BC there was only one event, a
footrace. Later Games included other events such as wrestling, boxing, discus,
javelin, and jumping.

Basketball is an amazing sport, one of the best in my opinion. Did you know
Michael jordan was the greatest of all time (GOAT) and back in his high school
they use to call him Magic after Magic johnson. You could turn out to be the
greatest of all time if you work hard, try your best and never give up.

I believe you can become famous by playing sport. Not playing sport would make
you become a  person who is fat and lazy.
if you train hard and play sports it would be a dream come true for you guys.

Do you want to be famous or fat and lazy? So get off the chair and play a sport.

Rippa ruby

Rippa is a sports game you play with a belt and tags.
The most thing I like about Rippa is that you never stop
having fun. The last time my school had a Rippa tournament
was last year and we came second. My school and I had to go
into golden point with Kerikeri school the last try was scored 10
minutes after we went into golden point. So we were giving our
everything but the most important thing my team liked out of
that day was that everyone had fun. The rules of ripa are pretty
simple. There is this thing you do when you spin around. that's
called a washing machine and that’s one of the things your not
allowed to do. There's this other things that’s called an
intercept pretty simple to remember but anyway in Rippa rugby
you can intercept but you can't just take off with the ball you
have to pass the ball to one of your teammates before you
score otherwise it’s a hand over. Another thing you can’t do in
Rippa rugby is fend I think everybody knows what fending is if
you don’t fending is when you push somebody away from you.
There is one more rule I am going to tell you and that rule is
blocking your tags with your hands that is one of the thing
The refs are strict about. And that is why I think Rippa is an
amazing sport.Image result for rippa rugby
